I guess if you go by the commercials you see on TV, there are only a couple of companies to worry about. But the companies I always saw weren’t what I was looking for. I needed to know which internet service providers in my area were willing to offer me service at a price I could afford, and I wanted to know more about the different policies each had in place. Call me a stickler for details, but I’d been burned a few times before, and so wanted to make sure my next ISP would be my last.
So I decided to go online to see what I could find. I ended up at this resource for comparing ISPs. Of course, it listed bigger companies like ATT Uverse, but it also gave me the option to see smaller companies in my area. I could even look up companies that were in my zip code! That really helped to narrow my search. All the results appeared within moments, which made it really easy to compare companies in my neighborhood. And just about every ISP had some kind of service deal on, so everywhere I looked, there were savings to be had.

There are so many Portland romantic hotels that it is easy to plan a romantic getaway in Oregon, but I cannot help daydreaming of Europe. Over the last two summers, I have especially fallen in love with Weimar, Germany. Weimar is a tourist town, though more for Germans than other Americans. The famous philosophers Goethe and Schiller lived there (among many other famous German personalities including, for nine years, Johann Sebastian Bach) and the town is centered around them: their homes are now popular museums, there is a statue of them erected in the central Theaterplatz (this is featured on nearly every postcard of Weimar), and one can find a plethora of souvenirs–keychains, busts, action figures, and books–honoring these two great thinkers. One highlight of the city is Goethe’s park and garden house.
